Incheon’s Pentaport Valley Rock Festival has boasted some absolutely stellar lineups in the past. Drawing some of the biggest acts from the world of rock (obviously), indie, metal, dance and hip-hop, Pentaport’s short history has included some of music’s biggest names. With the likes of The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, Fall Out Boy, KoRn, Deftones, Chemical Brothers, BoB and dozens more featuring on their previous lineups, the pressure is on this year to maintain this quality. We’re glad to say they haven’t let us down! The event is on August 12-14th 2016.
It has been about a month since Pentaport Valley Rock Festival made their first lineup announcement with some of the biggest names in guitar music. As well as Panic! At The Disco and Nothing But Thieves, PVRF announced that rock icons Weezer will be one of their headline acts. The LA-born alt-pop legends will be bringing their summery sound to South Korea and we’re already excited.
Then came the second announcement. This time the festival focused on Europe with classic britpop band Suede returning to Korea (and to Pentaport). They also confirmed that Irish band Two Door Cinema Club will accompany Weezer in the alternate headline slot.
As if that wasn’t enough, the third lineup announcement has been made and the festival is starting to look irresistible.
Korean indie band Ness will be making an appearance on the festivals opening day and Japanese rockers Spyair will also be playing live.
But the most exciting announcement for us has to be the inclusion of At The Drive-In. The band who shot to fame with their post-hardcore masterpiece Relationship of Command will be tearing it up and we can’t wait.
Still not satisfied? You’ve got one hell of an attitude to be honest. But fine. The Vaccines, Grouplove and Idiotape make this a solid festival lineups full of awesome music.
